Is it true that you can now tax your car online?

Yes, you key in details of your MOT (if applicable) and insurance and they verify online if they are current. Then you pay with your card and I received mine through the post 5 days later.

I believe this only works if your MOT has also been done electronically? I may be wrong here, but I know mine from last year is on paper only and I couldn't tax my car online when it was due.


Was told once it was electronically done I could do it online....Not sure if you then get a paper mot as well as electronic??


Somebody may correct me as I am only going by what I've been told...

You are right Lou, you need to have one of the new style MOTs or the verification will not work.
