I have a 7500 entertainment DVD player and it cuts out and turns off after 30mins. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is a loose connection as it doesn't recognise the ignition is turned on? Any help is very gratefully received

I've had several cars where the radio has either not worked until quite some time after starting a journey or has worked for a while and then cut out. In every case the fault has been down to the car's electrical system failing to provide sufficient power for the radio, ultimately ending with the alternator packing up (and a new alternator resolving the radio problem).

So perhaps your alternator is 'on the way out'?

It's not the alternator the DVD player has a built in system that's turns itself of in half an hour if the ignition is not on so I think that it's not registering the car is turned on
