Garden Screening

I currently have brush screening (2m high) but over the years it has worn away , cats have made holes in the bottom, etc. so I am looking to replace it.

I don't want to put fencing panels up but I notice there are various types of screening available, Reed, Brush, Willow, Fern and Bamboo.

Do any folk have any of these types, which do they find the most resilliant and can they be protected in some way with 'creosote' type stuff?

It may be possible to buy, woven hazel hurdles from larger garden centers, or also maybe extenderble, lattice panels, made from willow brush or other material.

If it is possible for you to grow a hazel bush, it may provide suitable material for patching up when needed.

I would personally go for the rustic look of the natural bark, which is reasonably durable.

Another alternative may be, is to use some chicken wire along the bottom of the screen to stop the cats getting through ?
