Hoover Bagless Cleaner

I have one of the above never having used a bagless cleaner before how do you find cleaning the filter, do you have to do this each time you use it ?

My bagless hoover has three filters and I have never washed them (might give it a try though to see if it improves suction) however, I do tap them outside to remove as much dust as possible.

Yes, just tap out the dust occasionally. I've never replaced a filter.
