I have some DVDs of my sons that I want to transfer onto my iPad. Can anyone recommend a program I can install onto my laptop to burn them onto the hard drive before transferring to ITunes?

Or is there a simpler way??

Many thanks

Assuming the files on the DVD are just "files" (mp3 files for example) then it is an easy job to copy them from the DVD to your hard disk.

You just open a window showing all the files on the DVD, and another window showing a folder on your hard drive, like say My Music, then either use "drag and drop" or "copy and paste" to get them on to your hard disk.

You can copy the whole contents of the DVD to your hard disk, or individual folders, or individual files.

If you have not used "drag and drop" or "copy and paste" before it can take a bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it is fairly easy.

Thanks for your reply. I think they may be protected as they are proper DVDs and not copies .... Thomas The Tank, etc so hence me assuming I need to rip them or something. I did find a rip program and there was so many files that I didn't know what needed copying over. It's probably going to have to be a little trial and error I think!
You might want to download this to your laptop

Make sure you opt for the FREE version.

Sorry tgm1974, when you said iTunes I assumed it was music that had been copied on to the DVDs.

Did not realise it was video files.
