Ipad Mini And Address Transfer - Help Please!

I have just bought myself a new Apple iPad Mini - so far so good.
I managed to set it up - BUT got stuck with one thing...how do I transfer/copy my address book from Outlook Express to the iPad?
I guess there is an easy way - but I a stumped - so all help will be greatly appreciated - as always!

Many thanks indeed - and my apologies for not saying so before - been ill!
Anyway - there was a conflict between iTunes and Cloud in doing the "sync" -and once I sorted that out - your advice worked a treat!
