We rescued a 6 month old female kitten almost 4 weeks ago. SHe is the most sweetest of kittens ive known.

When we went to the cat sanctuary she came over to me. I picked her up and I could immediately feel her body relax in my hands, and she purred for ages. As soon as I picked her up we feel in love with her.

She purres all of the time and rolls over for us stroke her belly. I am sure she thinks shes a dog....lol
The first night she was at ours she followed us up to bed and slept in the middle of us. She does this every night now.

She makes chirring sounds to get our attention. She headbutts and rubs herself on us. After playing with her she comes and sits on the sofa with us.

Sometimes when we go to the toilet she uses her littertray as well!! I think shes so intune with us.

Every morning she wakes us up purring and headbutting she even grooms us!!! I've never known that before in a kitten/cat, but I am sure other cats must do this.

We are sooo lucky to have such a loving kitten.

Any other people out there who have such loving affectionate kittys?

When mine was a kitten he used to be really affectionate towards me but no one else. He used to suckle my clothes and it looked like I was breast feeding him :-)

Now he's older he also goes to my OH for fuss or a fight but still won't go to anyone else. If we have visitors he tends to sit there giving them the evils.

He is completely different in the street. He's a tart who will let anyone stroke him. He more or less throws himself in front of people and rolls about hoping they'll stroke him.

He's a little bit odd.
Ah, kittens/cats are just wonderful. You now have a friend for life.
wonderful, muchlovex - although you might want to dissuade him from sleeping between you..... our cats are now over 5kg, and a cat between us means there's not much bed for us!

Mind you...this is a favourite poem of mine

Discontinuous we lie
with an old cat asleep
between our backs

where jealous children
used to squirm
wedged in between us

We grow old, you and I,
to be so equable, lying
back to cat and cat to back.

Since she's so little, you could try this too, my cats love it.

A mother cat will lick and groom the kitten quite hard. The nearest we can get to that is to hold the kitten to you, and rub it on the top of its head firmly with your chin. It reminds them of their mother. I've always done this with my cats, even though they are now pushing 14 years old.
What name have you given her?
Question Author
We've called her Mia. It means 'Mine', in Italian
I never knew what happened to Tigger and Blue before they ended up in Battersea but Tigger was extremely shy and always hid when visitors came round. Took a while for her to get used to me when I got her home. Blue was the opposite.
Congratuations enjoy your new kitty and love her for ever
