If you were retired and your only child married and moved abroad then started to have children that you might only see perhaps twice a year, would you move there too?

Two of my children recently moved near me in Devon, Im now moving to Wales (well as soon as poss) not to get away from them though.
No
I wouldnt move abroad just to be near them, but I would consider moving abroad.
Mrs O. Is the earth still moving in Whitby ;o)
Lottie - yes. Human bones are fair raining down from the old churchyard
Makes me very sad. Whitby is a very special place for me. Spent many happy hours in that area (Egton). Lovely part of the country.
Hope you are getting stronger by the day x
I moved to far off Europe as soon as I could afford it. There is more to life than grandchildren, (who have their own lives). I had a work colleague who's inlaws sold their house to follow them to another part of GB. When the next move was to the channel islands the inlaws couldn't afford to move again so were stranded in deepest darkest hampshire.
I would move to North Yorkshire by the way, if I didn't live in North Norfolk. I like them both equally.
Thanks Lottie - I am improving day by day.
The landslips are happening in two very small areas. The problem is no one will take responsibility for sorting it. Both Scarborough Borough Council and the Water Board say it is not their problem. xxx
You can't base your live around grandchildren. Fine when they are young and need you, but they move on and off. They will probably still love you, but you lose your importance to them, as do your own children.
Have the landslips affected the old kipper place?
I dunno....I was really close with my grand parents. Couldn't imagine what life would have been like without them.
Lottie - yes. It is directly below the old churchyard and Barry who owns it makes a trip to the church on an almost daily basis to return skulls and bones. xx
Didn't Dracula's ship run aground there? He's not struggling to get out of his box and causing those landslides, is he?
Don't tell me you believe in dracula as well a god Sandy!
I was too ummmm, but I didn't hesitate to move away from the area where my family lived and they became less important to my way of life, as did my parents.
Wouldn't want to live abroad permanently but would love a holiday home in the sun where we could escape the English Winter ;)
If there are forces of good, such as angels looking after us all, then surely there must be embodiments of evil rattling about seeking to do us harm.

Back to the original question. When I eventually do get the opportunity to go and spend my sunset years in the sun I'm leaving no contact information.
Glad to hear you are slowly improving Mrs O - keep up the good work. x
Thanks Ann xx
