How can I workout how much a 1Kw electric heater will use per hour

It will use 1Kw per hour, 2kws in two hours etc.

Look at your elecrtic bill to see what your supplier charges per kilowatt.

Or kilowatt hour. Whatever.

My answer assumes, of course, that the appliance is actually running for the entire hour. And, as OG says, find out your rate.

i:e if you supplier charges you 12P Per 1 kw (one unit)
that means a 1 kw heater left on for 1 hour will cost 12P .... and so on

Assuming there isn't a thermostat cutting it out from time to time.
