At the moment I have SKY digital but am considering going for TALK TALK Package deal mainly because it works out cheaper but will the reception be as good with an aerial compared to the SKY dish? And are there any hidden extras or drawbacks that I should know about?

I would have thought a satellite signal would be stronger than an aerial signal but at the end of the day I guess it's down to where you are located and where the nearest transmitter is.
I have freesat - via an ex Sky dish - and freeview on the same set and notice that freeview occasionally 'jumps' a microsecond and is subject to a little more degradation in poor weather.

Just be sure your aerial has been upgraded as far as freeview level

Thankyou both for yr advice. I'll wait & see what the Talk Talk engineer says & keep my fingers crossed!

Actually KJN, won't I have to return the SKY dish when I finish with them?
I've been told that satellite dishes are prone to getting snowed up in the sort of weather we've been having recenlty and this can effect the reception. This isnt normally a prob with an aerial.

BTW Potty64, did you resolve that problem with photos on youre memory stick/

Hi Sparrerlegs2(!) No, I haven't resolved the foto & Memory stick problem but a friend of mine is coming round tomorrow to sort it out, hopefully! Thx for asking!
Getting back to SKY &/TalkTalk, how can I get GOLD ( I know1 I know! It's OLD!) without going on to SKY? Is it possible?
