All of us experience problems that can bring unhappiness. When we do, we may look for advice from a trusted relative or friend, or use the library or the Internet.

My drinking buddy ... Chain Smoker Pal ... she has an answer for any problem after a few white wines and half a pack of Mayfair King Size.
Try meditation in a nice hot bath to think things through......and "do it yourself".

Sandyroe, unlikely because if you read on, Proverbs 1:6 continues:

….. for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.

Hardly like to acquire such information at the CAB. They're much more sensible.
^^ zac don't creep it's unbecoming.
I had an old friend who read the bible nearly every day, she was a lovely old lady. When I cleared her house out her bible was there by her chair, well thumbed with a note tucked in it's pages. It had my name at the top and a list of passages to look at in times of trouble, or for the various occasions through your life when you need advice. I'd forgotton it, I have it somewhere and now you've mentioned I will look for it to read the passages.
In Islam we take hardship and problems positively. God only puts you through problems to test your patience and to increase your ranks. Like any good parents would put their children through education and training that may seem harsh but would benefit them in the future. In Quran God has also told people how to succeed in the problems and the hardship. It is through patience.

That was from the book I believe in and now from the mother who brought me up,

My mother used to say, "Always be happy and thankful for what you have instead of being worried for what others have and you do not, because that would only bring in the jealousy, worries and depression". And I believe that more and more people now days have more and more depression for that very simple reason. They are not content and thankful for what they have got.

Keyplus finally you have said something that makes sense
"the Bible contains a host of principles and guidelines that can be applied beneficially in whatever circumstance you might find yourself"

Exodus 21:17 "Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death." vs Deut 5:21 "Thou shalt not murder or commit manslaughter"

Admittedly, your background may stand in the way of you enjoying an intimate relationship with Jehovah. Take for example a woman name Lidia. When she opened up to her father about a matter of deep personal concern, he simply brushed her off, saying: “Nonsense.” Although understanding that her father wanted her to forget the problem, Lidia says: “Studying the Bible gave me everything that I desired and much more. The attractive personality of Jehovah made him my best friend. Now I have a loving, understanding Father to whom I can pour out my feelings and my most intimate fears. I can spend hours talking with the most important Person in the universe, certain that he will listen to me.” Such Bible texts as Philippians 4:6, 7 helped her to feel Jehovah’s loving care. That passage says: “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.

Yes, I admit it was a c & p. People are always writing in to our organisation giving their experiences and I thought it was a good one to share with you! It shows up peoples attitudes.
@goodlfe - it has been pointed out to you, time after time, that unattributed cut and paste posting becomes devalued. It is intellectually dishonest, can seem a form of misrepresentation, and fails to attribute credit for the work.

Far better would be to copy a small part of the text, then offer a link to the original work, so we can judge for ourselves the value of the work and its context.

Seek not the advice of those who might not have your best interest at heart but rather the knowledge and understanding that will provide you with the means to make the best possible decisions and choices available and enable you to assume responsibility for that which inevitably and ultimately, is inescapably your own.
Yes there are all these good books about different subjects of life to try to help us to overcome the problems of this world (life) but it doesn't matter how you look at the problem.

always different// with a different person// these the problems are thousands of years old they go back to the beginning of life//

so there must be a reason for all these problems today and if you look in the Good Book you can still see how many of the problems which occurred back there.

is in our time.

I would suggest go to good book and look up some of the problems for your self

Romans 1-28- 30 // 2 Timothy-3-15---

Many problems are stated their for are time (to day)
