Bridge Of My Nose Is Sore

I got some new glasses just before Xmas. They were slightly loose so I went back and got the "things" either side of the bridge of my nose altered.
Two weeks on and they were still loose and making the bridge of my nose sore.
I went back yesterday and had the legs of the glasses bent and now they don't slip at all.

However, I now have a red mark where they sit and it irritates me.

Will this go away eventually now they are not moving about? Also, is there any cream I could use to help the healing?

I'm wearing my old glasses for awhile to give the skin a chance to heal. Is this the right thing to do? Thanks.

Yes........hydrocortisone 1% cream, will settle this almost overnight.
And you could ask the optician to replace the pads that sit on your nose with softer ones.
something like the silicone nose pads here at £3 the pair

Thanks sqad. Can I get it at a chemist without a prescription?
Yes.......I think so.......try.
Yes, you can chrissa, got some the other day for the OH.. And agree with Sqad, it works a treat
Question Author
Thanks very much. Off to Boots right now.
Sqad's good advice will undoubtedly treat the symptom but not the cause of the problem. You should see about getting the pads replaced. :-)

Thanks Sandy.
Same thing happened to me Chrissa, I got mine from Specsavers, they were very good and changed the pads free of charge to a more softer type. They said some customers are allergic to the material the harder kind are made of, but they fix those as standard as they are cheaper but will willingly change them if customers are not happy. Worth knowing this for next time ;)
Vision Express fit free pads and despite my weird pads , they sourced them - and also fix the fishing gut holding the glass in, (on top of the glasses on mine, the frame being titanium steel). So yep, get the right pair of pads for you, they shouldn't cut into your skin like that.

Thanks for that. I'll certainly keep an eye out to see if it happens again.
I went to Boots and got the cream. Eyes crossed.

I've just been back to Boots and got new larger and softer pads and I feel much better. Well, my nose does.

Thank you for your help all.
