I have what looks like 2 of these on my body - one on my leg which is fine and another my side. I've had them both for a long time but my husband thinks the one on my side has recently grown in size. Is it worth going to the Dr?

Tried reading about them online but not much info about them growing. Thanks

Any change in shape, size etc ought to be looked at, to put your mind at ease if nothing else.
Go and see your GP who may refer you to a dermatologist. Some GP's deal with them at the surgery itself.

yes i had 3 on my leg. My doctor sent me to a dermotologist who confirmed non cancerous(thank god) but did advise me to have a mole removed from my arm. So yes get an appointment with your doctor. If he/she not sure then you will get a referal and it could take weeks for an appointment. jpt x

Dermatofibromas are benign (not cancerous) and rarely, if ever become malignant (cancerous).
So no big deal from that point.

Yes I agree with the above posters, you should see your GP for your own peace of mind.
If there is any doubt on the matter, your GP will refer you and it certainly won't take weeks for a referral - the target is 14 days for a suspected cancer.

I saw the GP before Christmas for a skin lesion which worried me - within three weeks I'd had minor surgery to take it off.

Sorry for late reply guys, ok I'll get myself to the docs sometime this month. I didn't know if it was worth bothering the Doc about. Thanks x
