Waste of money. imo
depends what you use your laptop for and where. You can't have flash on an ipod which might be a problem for you. It also depends how much stuff you do on the go and at home or in the office. I love having an ipad and am about to upgrade to a mini with more memory but it wouldn't replace my laptop, which is also a mac.
not really, the laptop is more clunky with wires ect but better than a ipad, tablets are only really good for browsing and reading.
"flash on an ipad" not ipod.
most new tablets dont come with flash anymore, its being slowly phased out.
Love my iPad but I wouldn't be able to use it for anything serious (I'd use my laptop for that). Horses for courses and all that.
I have an Ipod which I adore. Bought in USA and has so many good apps even without flash. Use it to call people on Facetime or Viber so no cost. Check my shares. Use it as a camera. Mapper with times of buses etc. Daily weather in whatever destinations you set up. internet when in wife area. emails home and work. I won an ipad but sold it as only bigger rather than better.
I have a tablet that I use for 'fun': surfing and general arsing about online, games, ebay, watching movies and tv (Flash is still available for the latest Android OS). Useless for work which is done on the laptop.
I love mine and use it for all sorts of things.
Not all tablets are iPads, there are loads of tablets available other than the iPad.

They are all cheaper than the iPad, lke the Samsung Galaxy 7 inch and 10 inch.
While we're on the subject of i-pads, can anyone explain this? Went to a party the other night, and at least ten people who've never bothered carrying a teeny tiny compact camera, were up there waving 10" slabs above their heads to take low quality, flashless pictures.
Rojash, how else would up know that they have got an iPad?
Because they are iDiots...
I don't think a tablet of any kind can replace a laptop or desktop.

A tablet is handy if you are out and about a lot and want to browse the web, watch movies, read ebooks, listen to music, see to your email, play games when you're on the move.
Or if it is a 7" with GPS, use as a satnav.

It is a fun addition to a proper pc if you have the spare cash
