I recall watching a documentary, probably early 1990s, about a European female extreme climber [French, Swiss?]. Terrifying footage of her hanging by her fingertips from underneath mountain ledges without any equipment.

Anyone remember who she was?

Thanks sandyRoe - in my head 'my' climber was blonde and pony-tailed, but that could be my memory at fault. So you may well be right. Catherine certainly fits the terrifying climb profile!
