Animal Fingers

If Humans have hands, and on their hands have fingers, and have feet, on these are toes, then... Cats,dogs have paws, what are their fingers called(not to be confused with claws, which are the equivalent of our nails). Also camels and horses, etc, have hooves, but dont they consist of 2 parts? What are they all called??

Cats and dogs have "toes". A horse's hoof is only one bit, but a camel's has two bits to help it splay out on the sand.

As you say, bernardo, horses have one toe on each leg. Cattle, giraffes, camels, sheep, pigs, deer etc are cloven-hoofed, walking on two toes. However, they actually have four toes not two, with the outer pair being smaller and not usually touching the ground -- except often when needing extra grip (such as when jumping). Some mammals have three toes on each foot, such as tapirs. Lots, like cats and most dogs (at birth), have five on the front and four on the back. If you don't like calling them toes, you can call them digits.

Technically speaking - in both dogs, cats and humans - the last three joints are called the phalangeal joints, with the bones being called the phalages.

Aswell as the hooves, horses also have an 'ergot' which is a bony lump at the underside of the pastern and used to be their 'thumb' before evolution..
