I went to the doctor at lunch time for a check up to do with HRT, he needed to take my BP but couldn't get a reading on my left arm despite trying 4 times, the right was fine and BP is totally normal. Does anyone know what the problem could have been? The doc seemed baffled by it.

Do you mean that when he pumped up to inflate, there was no reading on the screen......if so, then his equipment was cr@p.

If there was no BP, your arm would be black and gangrenous.......it isn't is it? ;-)

I was wondering if the bulb was connected to the rest of the gubbins. But as this is a medical question I didn't like to say.
sandy...LOL.....I don't think it is a medical question....;-)
Blimey daffy, seems like your arm's dropped off. If he is baffled...well. !

The BP thing was one of those automatic ones and it appeared to be working fine, there were numbers on the screen with left arm but they kept changing/wouldn't settle to a reading, he got a proper reading from my right arm first time.
"Dodgy equipment".......his.....not yours :-)

Okey dokey, I thought it must be that but doctor thought not. I guess he needs to get his equipment checked ;-)
perhaps your viens aren't very close to the surface on that side, and the machine struggled to "hear"
The only time I've heard of this happening was from a friend who has very large arms and the automatic machine would not take the reading. Can't see how for you it would take one reading on one arm and not the other, very strange.

I have very clear veins in both arms, my skin looks like a road map actually :)

daffy, I've had issues with BP that has baffled the doctors.
