Watched an american show called 'this old house' and there was a joiner who had a small metal device that fitted onto his pencil that you basically adjusted to whatever height and it was used to scribe timber etc. (sorry if my description isnt all that) Just curious if anybody knows what I mean and if so where can I purchase on.

I know exactly what you mean. I usually fumble about with a pair of compasses or dividers. There are some proper ones though. A couple of them here.........

How did I know that The Builder would know the answer to any question involving a tool?
Teash .......... I have to apologise for Mrs Overhang .......... she's from Yorkshire ;o)
Nice to see my home town on AB. They are an excellent firm and have grown from quite small beginnings.
