M&s Exchange Of A Garment Without Receipt
8 Answers
A neighbour has bought me a sweat from M&S which Is too small across the chest. It it possible for me to exchange it for a bigger size without bothering her for a receipt to show? Would like to be wearing it when we pop in for drinks at Christmas.

Could you ask your friend to meet you and take both items into M & S. Give your friend the bag and the right size and ask your friend to exchange them with the receipt. Some companies now won't even give an exchange without the receipt (Not your fault, of course). Perhaps your friend could have asked for a gift receipt instead and given you that.

I agree with Hopkirk, but they are usually pretty good about exchanging unwanted gifts - but DO get the receipt. If the cost of the sweat has gone down in the sale after Christmas, unless you can prove the original cost you may only get a credit for the sale price (that is, assuming the size you want is no longer available).
