I'm not at all impressed with the new iTunes format.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to revert to the
previous version and how.
Thanks in anticipation.

Nor me, accidentally wiped all my podcasts.
Glad I read this, think I'll leave the update till I really have to do it. I'm sure there is a way of using an older version, I vaguely remember a thread on it, just can't remember if it was this forum, I'll have a lookey about.
ditto its crap
Is there not some way of lettimg itunes know that people are not happy with it?

Not sure what the problems you're having are, I'm on a Mac so it may not be the same but with a couple of tweaks all is ok, the sidebar can come back using the 'view' menu and the library display can be set pretty much anyway you like, my main bugbear was that it didn't look at how you had your old one set up and emulate that rather than go into default mode.
Where's the control to disconnect your i-pod?
Sandy, if you haven't got the sidebar showing (if you have the eject is where it always was) you need to select the ipod button top right and then it should be available on that screen, can't remember exactly where as I'm at work. To get the sidebar just click view and then (I think) show sidebar
I agree, they've made an absolute horlicks of.

Why some techies have to try and justify their existence with 'new ideas' is beyond me.

At times they need to take a long look at something, don't try and re-vamp it, just stick with 'if it ain't broke don't try and fix it'.
I especially hate that they've got rid of the cover flow, probably the best feature!

This sums it up I feel:

Thanks for that bitcandy link Chill, I'm 100% not updating my iTunes now.
I downloaded this yesterday and it's made no difference at all that I can see. But I downloaded a previous update a week or two ago, and that was a mess until I found where everything was hiding.

Not that either of the updates was necessary.
The album cover flow is a deal breaker for me, it's the only way I look for my music or do you still have this jno?
don't know if I ever had it, it wasn't something I used.
Fitzer, I see it now. Click on i-pod button at top right of screen. Then click on 'controls' and from drop down menu click on disconnect.
It seemed OK as it was.
Indeed Sandy, easiest is to have the sidebar back and use it as it was before.

Thank you all for your response I'll have another look tonight.
Perhaps a little less negativity on my part could help.
If it ain't broke don't fix it seems an appropriate adage however.

I hadn't realised they'd removed cover flow, never really used it on iTunes as it's a bit cumbersome on 1500 albums, does seem to be a backward step though.
