We are having a stopover in Singapore soon. We have done this before but wonder if its possible to have a relaxing sea-side type break there instead of a whirlwind city break? Any suggestions? Many thanks

there are some hotels on Repulse bay (named after the ship not because it is bad)
or you could go to Sentosa Island that has several beaches

Many thanks folly fancier. I shall have a look.
You don't have to have a whirlwind city break. You could just choose one or two things to do or places to visit instead of rushing around wildly trying to see everything. Or just find a hotel with a spa and relax.
You could go to Sentosa but it`s pretty manufactured. I`ve gone over to Bintan from Singapore before now and stayed the night. There`s a Banyan Tree Resort there and they`re usually pretty good. Although Bintan is Indonesia, it`s only 45 minutes on the ferry from Singapore.
Sentosa is the only decent spot but its all very artificial . St Johns island has almost no decent accommodation and you never used to be allowed overnight on Kusu Island. Next time try a stopover in KL , Malaysia or Brunei , many more options, or even Bangkok.?
