Just to update you from my thread on 22nd November when I mentioned my brother's ex-wife had died and her 97 year old father will not have my brother at the funeral.
He has decided, in the interests of all, to stay away from the funeral, which is on Friday, and my older brother and I, together with our OH's will represent him and give his three sons moral support.
Not what he wanted and not what his sons wanted either, in fact his ex fil has shot himself in the foot as he has alienated his grandsons.
The sooner Friday is over with and they can all have a step nearer 'closure' the better.

I feel sorry for the dad, it must be unbearable for him. Probably not what you want to hear but put yourself in his shoes, he's burying his child. I don't necesarily agree with him, but I wouldn't begrudge the old man either. It's just all terribly sad.

Sorry to hear that parkdale. It is very sad but I've found a death in the family can bring out the worst of emotions.
An emotionally charged situation indeed parkdale.

My thoughts will however, be with you and your entire family on friday, and i hope the proceedings go smoothly.

Best regards.

I don't understand this. Twice I have acknowledged these answers and on neither occasion has it appeared.
One more time. Thank you all three of you.
