I think it was "Balcony Scene" by Craig Armstrong, the album it's on is called "The Space Between Us"

thanks very much. do you know what else this has been on and is there one with vocals

It was used for the soundtrack of "romeo + juliet" with Leonardo di Caprio in. I don't think there is one with vocals.
