An mp3 file is a music file - audio only. You're trying to upload a completely different file - an mp4 file is a video file.

Ok GIZ. I got that now great stuff. gone into video now but its asking for
( video URL) AND TO CHECK IF VIDEO IS ALREADY IN THE ARCHIVE ??
Do a Google search for 'free online mp4 to mp3 converter'.

You'll be able to upload your original .mp4 file and convert and download it as an .mp3 file which you can then upload to your music website.

Hi snags thanks for your input , but i need to upload a video not just the music, does this not have to be in mp4 format?.
If the music site says 'it can only be uploaded in mp3 format' - which is an audio only file - as Gizmonster states above, then you can't upload a video (image and sound) file - unless the site accepts file formats other than .mp3.

The site does upload audio and video, what i was doing wrong before was trying to upload a music video with their audio format and Giz put me right on that. Now when i try in the video format it is asking for my (video URL) from youtube, i do not have a youtube URL, and i'm not trying to upload on to youtube anyway. so this is were i am now cofused. sorry to be a pain in the neck, but thanks for your help and if you can see a way forward it would great.

Are you sure there's not an option to upload a file directly from your computer rather than via .url? (post the address of the website and I'll have a look).
All the videos on that site are just links to youtube videos, you will need to upload your video to youtube and then enter the youtube link on that site.
