"Authentication Required by Wireless Network"

I've been getting the above mini window constantly ever since I lost my internet connection a few weeks ago.
It asks for a password so that a wireless connection can be established.
"Passwords are required to access the wireless network virginmedia"

But-I am connected-so why do I keep getting this?

Is "virginmedia" your network?

And what version of windows do you have?

yes...and I don't have windows. It is Ubunto/Linux I believe. System was set up by my daughter's BF.
