Is there a free E/mail programme that I can download for a new laptop and which will give something similar to Windows Mail which I have in my Desktop comp. My Desktop is loaded with Windows Vista and the Laptop is equipped with Windows 7.

I want E/mails to come direct into the Laptop and avoid having to go 'on-line' for them.

Well I guess the closest free program to windows mail is.... windows mail.

(it will want you to install several different things... just untick everything but mail)
Ron why don't you give Incredimail a try I find it very good.

Please, for the love of gawd don't install incedimail!
Why not Chuck ? As I said I find it very good, it does everying I would want an email prog to do & to be honest I have had so many different problems with both Hotmail & Gmail it's very nice to find something that actually works.

incredimail is terrible :(
Incredimail is fine for 12 year olds like like bloating their emails with silly backgrounds and animations, but other than that it's junk and should never be considered a proper mail client.

Also, although you may not realise it, it adds animated adverts to the bottom of every mail you send, which hugely increases the chances of your mail being filtered out as spam by automated systems, and even if it doesn't it makes your mail look like it was sent by a child and annoys the recipient by making them download unneeded junk.

It's a gimmick more than a proper mail program.
please do yourself a huge favour and DO NOT INSTALL INCREDIMAIL

Chuck, I didn't think that it was possible to install Windows Mail into Windows 7. Anyway, I'll give it a go to see if I can retain Viv's E/mail address which is ******@btinternet.com.

Sorry WR but, whilst you mean well, I have no intention of using Incredimail. I have read so many adverse comments about it that I must agree with Chuck and lozzer50.

Thanks Chuck for your advice....I have now established Viv's E/mail address in the new Lenovo laptop (OS Windows 7) and have tested it with a few communications from my HP desktop (OS Windows Vista) and vice versa

Thanks again.....Ron
