Can anyone help me with my family tree on Genes, please? I've just found out that my g-g-grandmother married her cousin (not my g-g-grandad) and I want to find out how to update the tree withut duplicating ancestors. Any ideas please?

Thanks, Dotty. I'll give that a go later. There's no sound on the pc I'm on at the moment!

Dotty, that didn't work unfortunately, but thanks for sending the link anyway. I don't know the geni.com site so I must have a look at it.

Someone on the Genes Reunited message board explained and it's so easy. Just click on the 'add' tab underneath the name on the tree, then click on 'partner', then the 'find existing' tab and type in the cousin's name.

(I just thought I'd add that explanation in case anyone else has this problem. It's easy to do once you know how, but Genes doesn't seem to explain it anywhere.)
pretty much the same way as on the link kiki and it's only when you've done it you realise how simple it is, i have cousins marrying, my great grandmother married her cousin and he IS my great grandfather PLUS, her grandparents were also cousins and so it does make for a strange shape on the tree
