Question Author
yes and lucky they actually had a decent camera with them too
I should have entered my avatar photo,I won 1st in our village show with it!
I thought badgers did come out in the day as well as night
Question Author
maybe they do then, i thought they had their own trails and didn't wander about
I thought it looked fake too, badgers are very shy and majority do only come out at night...Im not convinced on this photo.
Perhaps that is his or her trail.maybe the photgrapher knows about it and stalked it to get the shot.

It's a puppet!
I reckon it`s real. It`s got a very convincing shadow which is in keeping with other shadows in the picture (depth, direction etc) and if you look at the focal point of the picture (the badger) that`s in keeping with the focus of the trees.
Would be very easy to do the same with a stuffed one. Far easier to get the depth of field right too.
I have some lovely photos of badgers taken near us in the countryside. They were taken in the evening when we often see them on the move but if they see or sense you they are gone.
if this is a con they should be exposed never liked that john craven anyway grey haired Snag.
I've seen a badger in daylight, but you would have had to have been quick to get a photo.
The pic was taken in Dumfries. Scottish badgers are quite friendly and can often be found wandering the country lanes.
