joomla!do you know how to use it?

Hi everyone!
Im helping a friend to set up a buisness web site, as its his third job, he has little time to do it himself and has asked me to help.
I have come across joomla alot recently and feel it is an idiot proof program. But how do you get started? It seems to be a bit longwinded on the site and i cant make head nor tails of it. Help!
Does anyone use it? Do you know how to start?

First you need to set up a hosting account. Use go daddy and they have joomla ready for you to install yourself. Or you can do it manually. Joomla comes in a zip file so you upload it to your server, then you point it to a domain. Thats all really then evverything elce is done online by the backend of joomla by logging into your site (e.g) www.yoursitedomain.com/admin
