Therefore for the men, 3 events (5000m, Shot Putt and Discus) have
never had their world record set at an Olympic Games. For the women,
6 events (400m hurdles, 5000m, 10000m, Triple Jump, Javelin and
Hammer) have never had their world record set at an Olympic Games.

what about reining holders of the TUG OF WAR being ENGLAND
the MARATHON does not hold any record as the marathon courses all differ only the FASTEST time counts
According to my 15 year old Trivial Pirsuit game the only mens track & field event world record not to fall during an Olympic Games is the 5000m. Not sure how rigorous the research was into the answer though.
