I am having problems with my sky tv. i cannot get BBC1 ITV1 2 . Th e message says that 'There is no satellite signal received'

I have constantly tried to phone Sky , for the last 4 days but the wait for them to answer a call is between 25 and 60 minutes!!

I have tried several times to reset my Skyplus box to try to get these channels to work by the way

Anyone else had similar problems!

ive had this problemn with my sky several times all i do is disconnect the box completely by taking out from the back of the box or the three pin plug from the wall socket leave it out overnite and it seemed to work everytime when i got this problem the box worked on some channels but not others mainly in bad weather conditions best of luk

Sky told me to diconnect the power to the box for a minute or so when we had a "lockup"

Works every time for me but not always first time.

There is a known software issue with Skyplus boxes after a recent upgrade. I would try the above, and if this does not work I am afraid you will need to speak to sky technical services

Thanks for you answers everyone. Have tried to solve it using your tips but still no joy.

Can't get through to Sky either.

From looking online, I've come to the conclusion that it's either the LNB or a problem their end(Sky)

Will post if and when I get it sorted

Our satellite dish was knocked slightly by a clumsywindow-cleaner. I had to realign it and it was very touchy! slightest bit off and no signal! could this be the same fault you have?

I had the same problem but, touch wood, haven't for ages. I emailed Sky about it ([email protected]) and was advised to do the unplugging thing, and if that didn't work to do the following:

Press the 'services' button.
Select number 4 for system set up.
Then key in 0 and then 1 and press select, this procedure will bring up the hidden menu.
Select number 6 on the hidden menu for new installations and follow the on screen messages which will advise you to select to bring the channels back in line.

If after following this procedure the problem remains, it may be that you require an engineer to check the system. If you are outwith your 12 month warranty, this call will be chargeable. Please contact us on 08702 435 000 if a service call is required.

Hope this helps.
