I am trying to find the outcome of a court case that was reported in newspapers in April of this year. It was a tobacco smuggling/unpaid duties case, the man in question was due to appear in court at the end of April. I have since been looking but cannot seem to find any information as to the outcome. Any ideas please?

That is a massive case, from what I can tell, involving many people in different courts around the country.

I'll try and pursue it when I have the time.

Try the Law Pages, you have to register but they don't hassle you once you have.

I have registered with the law pages, a bit of luck there. I have a case number and a couple of dates, but at the moment seem to have hit a bit of a brick wall.

The reason behind all this....? One of the men in question is my ex husband, my 18 year old son's father. My son is keen to meet him after 14 years of absence. I am not so keen, leopards and spots and all that. But am doing my best to find out what I can!!
So thank you, it means a lot that you take the time out to help :)
If you email his name I can tell you the Mag Court he was heard in and the date in May.
Should be easy enough to track him from there.
I can also tell you his address.

The brick wall you have hit is because there is not an outcome, i.e. Crown Court trial is yet to commence.

From the information you have no doubt found at The Law Pages, the defendants appeared at Reading Crown Court for the Preliminary Hearing back in June and Thursday 27th Sep was an appearance for the Plea and Case Management Hearing.
