National Rail say it's about 100 minutes by train, changing at St Pancras and Paddington, £23.50 one way, if that's any help. I've not done it, though, so others with personal experience may know better, quicker or cheaper ways.
£20 by coach -takes 3 hours
If you use the "Transport Direct" website, you can work out a door-to-door journey using postcodes. Looks like train to London and out again, or bus and coach.

thanks - was looking like a much longer journey than had previously hoped but wondered if someone living more local could advise something quicker. Thanks for your help.
well if she went by helicopter it would probably be quicker!
Google says it's 50 miles and 1 hour 8 minutes by road (basically M25 and M4), if she'd rather drive.

I did suggest a jet pack ha ha!! They are flying down tonight to stay with a friend to then go to the football so no access to a car. Think he had just basically looked at the map and thought that will be 20 - 30 mins but then when looked into it realised would be having to be going to london and back out.
ps the stadium is no-where near the station
