I have a dream of taking my daughter and her family abroad as none of the kids have been out of the country, a quick look at the thompson site and we were up to £4,000 just for 2 adults/4 kids and thats without passports, parking new clothes spending money etc.

family even, been a long day..
when? And for how long? And what do you want to do - beach? Resort? Theme parks?

Summer you don't need to go far to be hot - south of France would do it and with luck even closer. Winter, the Canaries or Egypt are probably closest.
The Travelzoo site (www.travelzoo.com) has some great offers. I have used the site before for local deals and have never been disappointed.
I was just looking myself for a quick holiday to the Canaries but rain is expected there. I found out that Marmaris in Turkey will be still boiling and no rain forecasted. I would most likely give a look as Turkey is known to be affordable even in peak season.

I am sure you could get something within you budget there. I put a video link for you to check some of the family hotels in Marmaris

can't advise re prices but my sister and her husband were looking for holidays for next summer and travel agents seemed to have some good deals available for early booking. They do say online is best but so much to choose from that perhaps if you went in and sat with a travel agent, giving them your budget etc!?!? I don't have children but went to Menorca with sis and her family few years back - we went to Cala'n Blanes, it was ideal. We didn't do all inclusive but bought stuff in for brekkie and normally headed off with picnic lunch and ate out at night so kept costs down a bit. Perhaps though if trying to stick to a budget you are better to go all inclusive so know in advance what you are spending.
