I went to get a tooth out yesterday and after 40 minutes of hauling and pulling by 2 dentists, I no longer have my tooth but I still have the roots. Apparently they are curved or something and it looks like I'm going to have to be referred for a surgical removal where they'll take away some bone to get access. I feel like I've been kicked in the face by a horse! Has anyone else had this? I have to wait 3 weeks before they'll xray and probably refer - please tell me I'm not going to be in this amount of pain for all that time?

Well the general consensus is get to the docs. That's first thing on tomorrow's agenda then. So far I've been taking normal strength co codamol and mr mac's clonazepam. They don't relieve the pain, but it's not so bad when I'm unconscious ;-)

yes, take cocodamol (or paracetamol etc) every four hours; take iboprufen every four hours but two hours after the coco. Very normal, not suicidal. You need a prescription for cocodamol - your dentist can probably give you one (and should have, I would have thought)

You can buy 8/500 no doubt doc will give you 30/500 if thats what you want and still take brufen!!! Oh..and some senakot ;0>

Last time I went was for root canal, never ever ever again!

The pain I can bear but the hour and 40 minutes sitting back mouth wide open gagging was enough for me.
