Many of us claim they respect others irrespective of race, colour or creed. Sure I'm happy with race and colour plus other additions e.g. sex. But I can think of so many creeds which vary from the intolerant, through money-making schemes to pure evil. Examples: (a) "christians" who will not tolerate any contradiction to the literal translation of the King James bible - so no teaching of Darwinism, no abortion, no blood-transfusion; (b) sects which have led to mass suicide; {c) Islamic death fatwahs against critics of the Koran and chopping off hands of thieves; (d) Pagans and others who believe(d) in human or animal sacrifice.
This is a simple question because its validity seems questionable to me, wot say you?

Not all creeds assert that there is a god and I'm not sure that modern pagans belive in a god or indulge in sacrifices. I have no respect for creeds that are based on deliberate deception to gull their victims. Unfortunately that is most of them. I feel sorry for the victims who spend their lives racked with guilt or reduced to poverty by the the religion that has...

Khandro, you’re scraping the barrel and I won’t go into Jesus’ thoughts on wealth, but if I thought I wouldn’t be accused of being ‘jejune’, I might be tempted to point out that the woman with the alabaster jar didn’t purloin it!
jomifl; If you hand a book (any book) to a Tibetan Buddhist Lama or monk, before he opens it, he will touch it to his forehead and whisper something which tanslates as; 'May I profit from any wisdom that may be in this book'. Not a bad attitude, wouldn't you say?
Well, “seek, and ye shall find”, doesn’t seem to work. Back to the drawing board, Khandro.
A touching ritual Khandro but a ritual nonetheless..
Of course it's a f*****g ritual !

Does this also apply to 50 Shades of Grey?
Khandro - “... Of course it's a f*****g ritual!...”

Step aside Oscar Wilde.
I have nothing against ritual per se. I always wipe (religiously I might add) after a productive session on the throne of wisdom . . . followed shortly thereafter ("Thank God" did I hear someone say?) with a ritualistic washing of the hands.
Khandro, is it a f*****g ritual, or is it an atititude, make up your mind.
Does anyone know what Khandro is talking about? I suspect if he was hit over the head with a copy every religious book in existence, his capacity to understand the concept of principle wouldn’t improve.

I had hoped that I'd said my final words in my missive to Khandro and "his ilk" (meaning Key+). I hoped to let them be marinaded in their own juices by the sensible ABers and "so it came to be", Oh! Khandro and any other graspers at straws that "marinade" phrase is called a "metaphor" - AB anti-religionists are not cannibals!
As originator, I re-connect to this theme for three reasons: (a) When I saw anti-islamic and possibly other religious wars breaking out AND THUS SIDETRACKING MY ORIGINAL QUESTION, I appealed against it.
Think of it that way and abolition of this and other logo's of my worst enemy: PC-DO-GOODERS should unite both religionists and others. These PCDGers are both ruining and ruling us 99.99% of the world - typically using "respect all creeds" and other double-speak (ty Eric Blair). (b) Kh and K+, cool it. Your Islamic enangelism is promoting Anti-islamic feelings amongst the less liberal in this world (not meaning us ABers who are intelligent and fair debaters). In fact Khandro, your fervency scares me. (c) I feel proud to have sparked an as-yet unspoken subject - pity the spark can't cause a universal fire (metaphorically speaking - the latter phrase for the Secret Services Listeners-in to all inernet chat). Me paranoid? Nope - lots of ABers know because we are all scared of criticising one religion only including me. DON'T SAY IT PLEASE!
Love and peace to all (some chance that one! lol)
SIQ. (I like that name, ty Nao) xxx

OK, OK, OK "eVangelism" not enangeilism". Mind you latter a good new word? OED writers note I said it first!
SIQ, //I feel proud to have sparked an as-yet unspoken subject //

I'm not with you. What subject is yet unspoken of? Or was that it?
Question Author
Nope Naomi it was the uncriticised REGION! Don't say it - I'm not - just think about it.
But do you believe in the secret services listeners-in to all internet chat etc -perhaps filtering for key words? 1984 is here in UK etc.
SIQ
Damned if you do, damned if you don't . . . why should that stop anyone from giving a damn?
Question Author
Oops "RELIGION" not "REGION"
SIQ, // it was the uncriticised REGION! Don't say it - I'm not - just think about it.//

Sorry, still not with you. I can’t think of any that have gone unscathed around here.

I’ve no idea. Do you believe that?
