Domestic Window Cleaning - how does it work?

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me how the domestic window cleaning works? We can reach the windows of our house on the ground floor and clean them ourselves, but the 1st floor seems tricky! I bought an extendible pole with a squeegee, but it's no good, as the pole is all wonky and there's not enough pressure on the squeegee to do a clean job.

I have been looking into getting a guy to come it and do the top floor, but was wondering if they will agree to only do the outside of the house? Is there an industry standard price per window?

Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Its one of those things in life tho. You can never find a good one for years, and then 3 come along at once! They never do the inside. Mostly they come when you are out and put a card thru. Ive never know a window cleaner do the inside of the windows.

You do the inside and they do the outside, just upstairs if you ask them.
Price can be negotiated with them usually.

ask neighbours if they use anyone.

Thanks redcrx!
My window cleaner cleans the outside up and down, for £6. Twice a year he cleans the external frames and the inside windows as well for £20.
Its one of those things in life tho. You can never find a good one for years, and then 3 come along at once! They never do the inside. Mostly they come when you are out and put a card thru. We've persuaded ours to do us every other month as we couldn't afford every month. We have a 4 bed detached which has 6 windows and a full glass door downstairs plus a small conservatory, and 5 windows upstairs. Ours charges £10 tho we were quoted £15 by another. Think it pays to ask around and keep your eyes out. At the end of the day, they get to see in your house on a regular basis and know if you are at home, so recommendation is probably the best way to go.
We used to have a window cleaner years ago who I think was used to cleaning portholes on ships as all our rectangular windows had dirty corners after he'd been.
He didn't last long. We now have a bungalow and don't need one.
Don't get a window cleaner, get a bungalow. Now there's an idea!
ask around your neighbours, as mentioned earlier recomendation is best
we had a window cleaner, came once a quarter so save us the money, cost £10 a time. He has a power hose and did all the front of our 4-storey house, which is 3 bay windows, 2 doors and a window in the attic.
There are many genuine window cleaners and cleaning companies out there who offers the cleaning services. Professional window cleaner clean the frames and the sills as well as the glass.
