I watched the grainy, black and white transmission of the moon landing, thinking this was the beginning of true space exploration. Sadly it wasn't but it was a most important first step. Rip Neil Armstrong, you were the first of, hopefully, many to follow in your footsteps.

Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Brave men and pioneers all. I can’t help thinking how frustrating it might have been for Michael Collins to be the only one of the three not to be the first to set foot on the moon – but let us not forget him, because without him his colleagues would have been doomed. What an incredible feat – and what an incredible way to leave a very decisive mark in the annals of history. RIP Neil Armstrong. My admiration knows no bounds.
