Quite a pleasurable romp after some difficult ones recently. More time to watch the Olympics.

pdm came this morning. It's impossible to imagine how stupid one can be, but at least I didn't get any hints, so feel I have achieved it single-handed. It must be down to the thrill of seeing Paul Scholes dispossessed in the box last night for the first goal in a memorable 2-1 win over Man Utd.
Out of interest, what was the hint? I recall only getting a single word at the start and then a jumble of letters - probably didn't follow all the wordplay. No matter, I no all of the endgame. Just for the sake of closure, really.

Three days of staring at the grid before the PDM finally hit. I still don't fully understand 13A, and I've got no idea what the title of the puzzle, "Talking Scouse", has to do with anything.
Thanks to all who answered - problem sorted now!
