Lots of fuss again in the news on smoking

Australia has just announced it intends to force all cigarettes to be in plain packaging. As far as I am concerned, if the amount of tax revenue collected from smokers is greater than the cost of treating them then let them carry on. Surely that is the only criterea that should be considered.

I wonder if it would be legal for a tobacco company to give away branded cigarette cases with a carton of 200 fags, or sell fancy branded cases.

I can see quite a market for 'bling' cases, similar to iPhone shells.

Brands and packaging do make a difference. Who would you expect to smoke:

Senior Service/Park Drive/Woodbine
B&H, Embassy
Sobranie Cocktail
Gitanes
Super cheap brands
Roll ups

anyone for the above, as I known people with loads of money who smoke, but don't necessarily go for the very smart expensive brands. Some who smoke roll ups as a way of trying to wean themselves off as the cigs go out so often..
