Making Friends

My daughter of 26 years has recently moved to a different part of the country to be with her partner but she is finding it very difficult to meet people and make friends and so gets homesick. Any one who has been in this position have any ideas?

Joining some kind of a club or association is usually a good start.

i moved away by myself. My work colleagues introduced me to loads of people and it kind of went from there. Getting a part time job in the local pub helped as well

Certainly agree with going to the local. It doesn't take long for people to recognise your face and start being friendly.

Can't her partner introduce her to people?
