How odd. I wouldn't be at all pleased with some one like that knocking at my door. When I gave up the TV license I wrote the appropriate letters to the appropriate people and I suppose as with most things in life you tend to be treated by others as you treat them?
I've never had threatening letters or obnoxious thugs at my door.
Where is India mentioned?
This has been on the News and in News reports

"We will now commence a formal consultation period with employees and their nominated trade union representatives to ensure that all possible options are explored."

The CWU said some jobs will also be lost among field operations, adding that some work work was being transferred to India.

National officer Andy Furey said: "This is devastating news for workers in Bristol, Glasgow and elsewhere and a terrible way to start 2012. It's a callous act by Capita management who have put commercial interests ahead of jobs and people.

"It appears that Capita has sacrificed the livelihoods of people in Bristol, Glasgow and elsewhere as cost savings to win the BBC TV Licence contract, rather than finding legitimate savings elsewhere."
seems like a bit of bbc bashing really. capita lost about 400 people in march last year in bristol and nobody on ab really noticed.
BBC bashing seems to be RebelSouls' only purpose in life Ankou.
It is competitive tendering. The Government employ a company to collect the licence fee. The Government (on behalf of the taxpayer) wants to pay as little as possible for this work to be done, so they go for a collection company that supply the lowest bid. This company also want to make a certain amount of profit, so if their wage bill goes up, they need to cut jobs to maintain the level of profit they want.

Not very much to do with the BBC. Nothing to do with India. Just RebelSouls banging the same drum.
it's going to cost them a fortune to send people from Bangaluru to break down RebelSouls' door.

Still, it will be worth it if they catch a single malefactor.
I shouldn't bother to pay as it will take a lot of money to come over from India to check if you have one or not!!
Power to the people..don't make me laugh the only thing the person doing the filming did was show himself up.

"Very sad to hear this news, More jobs going to India. pmsl". So lovely to see you find the possibility of 350 families losing their source of income amusing.

I informed my cable provider to cancel their service and also told TVLA I did not require a license. I was reimbursed £70 for the pre-payments I had paid for the next license and everyone I dealt with was pleasant and the whole matter was over with no fuss at all. That was 2 years ago.
is that you in the video rebelsouls?
i have no love for this company but no one should gloat over jobs going to india.
it is hardly likely to be the thugs jobs going to india it will be the call centre jobs that will be lost.

Toby570 >> I was reimbursed £70 for the pre-payments I had paid for the next license and everyone I dealt with was pleasant and the whole matter was over with no fuss at all. That was 2 years ago. <<

you must be a lucky one Toby my trouble started when i had a valid licence.

they also have to reimburse you, i have noticed that they can charge you weekly or monthly but when it comes to repayments if you have less than 3 months they are unable to pay you back

find that very strange
jno >>it's going to cost them a fortune to send people from Bangaluru to break down RebelSouls' door. <<

the bbc has never allowed them to break down anyone's door serving a warrant if you have proof that this has happened i would love to see it .
Coobeastie >> So lovely to see you find the possibility of 350 families losing their source of income amusing. <<

if they get stuck on benefit and are unable to pay for a licence i wonder if they will have to let their ex mates in to search their house or will their ex mates turn a blind eye
DrF, I would not know but I'm sure if proof is available anywhere in the world R Souls will have it.
they have never done it up to about 6 months ago. this was a question asked under the freedom of information thingy
That TVL Doorstepper should re-read his company's procedures manual.

"Threat of a search warrant must not be used to gain access to premises."

AND

"Photographing / Videoing of an EO during a Visit

7.2 There is no law prohibiting an individual from taking either photographs or video footage of an EO conducting a visit on private property. Accordingly, the EO should not, under any circumstances, confront or try to prevent an occupant who wishes to do so.

If an EO finds themselves in a situation where they are being photographed or videoed they must remain calm and continue to conduct themselves in a professional manner and ensure that they walk away from the visit as soon as they become aware that they are being filmed or photographed.

All instances of filming/photography must be notified to a manager as soon as
possible, and a full report provided."
