I agree. I had the same experience last year when I registered a JSA claim over the phone and then had to make numerous calls as it took them over six weeks to start paying me. It is wrong that we are expected to ring 0845 numbers and then have to hang on for ages at our expense.

I think they may just think u hav nothin better to do but im crackin up here!!

Its costing me everytime i connect! I cant afford the extra calls like that! Mum & dad pay my bill and used to take any extra charges off of me but they prob wont and i feel bad now!! What choice do i have! A face to face appointment is like gold dust!

Aargh
The job centres might be on strike today, heard something on the radio this morning x

Ooh really ill look that up thanks!!

Last time they did i took a 20m train ride home and a 10min walk to get to the door and it was locked with a sign on saying on strike!! Haha i was gutted!! X
Maybe they would employ some more staff if government after government did not keep cutting budgets!
as far as i remember they were on strike yesterday. I would imagine there has been higher call volumes on the days either side of the strike

Ive managed to get on hold!!

....for the past 15mins eeek.

But its a start LOL xx
Much of any Crisis Loan you may get will probably have to go on paying your phone bill. I am not sure you will qualify for the Crisis Loan anyway tinks- have you looked at the eligibility criteria on the directgov site?
Question Author
Its an "alignment of wages" but it comes under a crisis loan for loving expenses...it was the job centre main desk people who told me who to call...

I got through on fri for advice but now need to apply as its been confirmed i wont be paid till sept.....hassel!

They also mentioned a back to work payment whatever the heck that is? Thats my next thing to look up. Jeez x
Tinks I like you loads but that typo is wonderful.

Loving Expenses, are you an MP in disguise?

I hate phoning them, they really should be a free-phone number.
Loving expenses, tell me how to make a claim, tinks.
Good luck but I know there are strings attached as I didn't get either. I recall you had to have been registered as unemployed for a long period- something like 12 months. I recall it also had to be income based JSA so if you are living with parents (I don't know) then I doubt you would get it.
I really think it's worth checking the website .
Good luck

Loving expenses hahahahahahaha

Belter! Hahahahaha

Awww well i didnt realise its a same day payment....so that was a waste of time! I was trying to get organized!! Doh.

Ive checked factor..going to try anyhow because even so i live at home my mum and dad cannot support me for 6weeks...no way..they pay things already for me...even if the loan covered what my jsa has been till then id obviously manage!!

Whats it like eh xxx
