What is your view of this scenario....

I introduced myself to the new neighbour who was faffing in his garden. We chatted pleasantly and he then invited me in for a look around, as he takes me into the kitchen he explained that I would meet the nervous dog. Beautiful boxer stands up out of her bed and wanders out of kitchen. I ask if she is OK to wander as front door is open, 'yeah, she'll be fine'. Go to leave and dog is nowhere to be seen.

Of we go looking for dog, who has a good ten minutes on us. Can't find her and other everyone asked has not seen her.

He gets in his car and goes off looking, is back in 20 minutes. Good, I think he's found her.

20 minutes later I head out and he is back in the garden faffing, 'you've got her back then?' I ask.

No, I've just had a call from my partners daughter (and owner of dog), a driver found the dog on the side of the road injured and has taken it to the vets. The vet rang partners daughter to inform her and she rang the new neighbour wanting to know where her dog was.

He is continuing to faff in the garden/garage/house while his partners daughter leaves work and drives 20 miles to the vet to find out how her dog is, he is just 5 minutes away from the vets.

I am trying not to let this colout my judgement of the man but how the hell can he not go to the vet to make sure the animal he was supposedly looking after is OK???

Surely this isn't normal behaviour?

I have finally seen the dog and she seems fine.

Still completely unimpressed with the neighbour though.
