I accidentally and stupidly chose to open a PDF file (and all future PDF files) in Microsoft Word 7. Now every time I want to open/view/save it goes straight to MS Word 7 and all text is shown as gobbledegook. Is there any way of rectifying my mistake? Any replies in plain English please.

Highlight the PDF file - don't open it.
Right click your mouse button and select "Open With".
Then select "Choose Default Program".
Select "Adobe Reader" and make sure you tick the box, "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".

Gizmonster. Thank you for taking the time to answer in a way that I understood perfectly. I don't appear to have Adobe on my system so will probably have to download. I've made a note of your instructions and once I have Adobe I'll follow them up.
Some people on here recommend the Foxit reader as better than Adobe.

Thanks. Actually not heard of Foxit but I'll look into it.
