Friendship/dating sites

Hi, am I in the right room to ask this question?

Looking for a good a friendship site . Have tried Pof for dating lol ( will say no more)
and midsummers eve which is very clicky with some nasty peeps ( odd for a freindship site !! )
Just googled friendship site and there are loads so thought I would ask if anyone could point to a good one

Well to chat in forums and also to have the option to meet up for evenings out etc
Its hard to make friends as a singleton
