I'm never happy with foundation to be honest. Can anyone recommend a good one that looks like I've got foundation on and stays on!?

Thanks

Daughter recommends Ideal Flawless by Avon. They have a website.
(she's also an Avon lady and she's had good feedback from her customers about this particular foundation)
What skin type and approximate age are you?
Question Author
I'm 25, fairish skin. Skin type normal to oily I would say.

The trouble with Avon is that it's hard to tell from a brochure what colour you are.
There's so many to choose from we'll all have different favourites. For my t'pennyworth I like good coverage and have oily skin so like Max Factor Lasting Performance. Estee Lauder Doublewear is good too although maybe a bit too heavy and drying for many.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse would be my recommendation.
Daughter has asked what hair colour are you, and is your skin tone pale, very pale or perhaps a shade darker than pale. If you were nearby she'd send you some samples. The thing with Avon is that if it doesn't suit you can send it back for a full refund.
Daughter is "milk bottle" pale so she uses light pink. Next shade up is Ivory, then shell, nude, creamy natural and natural beige. Those are the six shades recommended for fair complexions. Hope this helps
Why would you want one that looks like you are wering foundation. Dont you want something natural that gives even skin tone. I would go for a mousse type one aswell.
I like clinique
have you tried tinted mousturiser?
bednobs I use tinted moisturiser. Body shop is just the best! Alot of people says it looks like a natural tan on me. and is so soft on my skin.
I've just bought my first Body Shop Foundation and I like it, and it stays on.

Yeah I have used Clinque tinted moisturiser, it was ok but wouldn't say it stayed on.
I recently bought Lancome Teint Idole Ultra or something like that but it's very pale and I don't like the finish - wouldn't buy it again.
I bought a Benefit playstick foundation thing that was awful!
I've just ran out of MAC studio sculpt foundation which was a gel texture (I have been mixing this with the Lancome).
I am pale but I put a little bit of Garnier body lotion on sometimes at night so it gives me a subtle colour the next day.
I would say my skin tone is pale, I've got freckles and pinky colouring in my cheeks naturally until I cover them with foundation.
I have dyed red hair, it's naturally mid/dark brown.

Thanks everyone for the advice, who would have thought buying foundation would be so awkward. I don't mind what I spend so long as it's good. Rather that than wasting it on all sorts.

I've got an Avon lady in work, I can always ask her for some samples to get the right colour for that foundation.

My husband always rolls his eyes when I tell him I need a new one lol.
The next foundation I'm getting is Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation
All the reviews I've read for it are extremely positive. On special at Boots now-but I will probably order from Ebay,as it's cheaper there.

I love loreal, cant remember the name, has a grey pump top and a jigsaw peice on front...cashmere touch mabye? Brilliant....using rimmel just now....its great xx
I use Superdrugs Gosh, been using it for 2 years now, my 2 daughters use it as well now. It has good coverage and lasts all day, 2 of us use the Sand, other daughter uses the lighter shade. Like you we have tried a lot over the years and have stuck to this one.
The avon mineral foundation is just fantastic, I switched to using that from a liquid foundation because it just stays put all day long. I'm a very pale redhead and I use the ivory shade.
I expect you wouldn't really be tempted to go for Lancome again but my fave is their Teint Miracle. It gives good coverage but isn't heavy and has a nice glow. It's expensive (as you know!) but well worth it IMO.
