I have just had a clearout and came across an old bible given to my daughter in primary school, I decided to throw it away but I felt uncomfortable about it. I have no idea why.

I also feel uncomfortable about throwing away stuff the kids made, even worse if they stick a little picture of your child on the picture!, to be fair though the house would be filled to bursting if I kept it all! is there anything that you feel odd throwing away?

I am pretty ruthless when it comes to throwing things away, my OH is a hoarder, every now and again I blitz and he can get quite upset, he usually sees sense though, especially when I point out things like he hasn't had a 32" waist in fifteen years, (don't go in his wardrobe until he is having trouble closing it on all the junk he has stuffed in there).
unfortunatetly everything, which is why my house is an utter utter tip
My son is 58 and I still have a letter written to me to tell me a story about a little boy (him) who loved his mummy (me). He was six. I cannot throw it away. My daughter is 55 and I still use a needle case she made for me at school when she was seven. There is no way I could throw that away either.
I have been watching 'The Hoarder Next Door' on tv for the past few weeks and it made me realise there are people out there worse than me (not many though lol). I have stuff stacked everywhere, nothing in particular but loads of dog stuff (books, show catalogues, newspaper clippings) that I fully intend sorting through at some point - my worse thing is stacking more stuff on top, then never getting to the bottom of the pile. Think I need to go on the show to get the psychotherapist to help me chuck stuff out! They have a word 'churning' which means moving stuff from one place to another instead of chucking it out - that sums me up!
I have kept stuff the kids have made me over the years, self made mothers day cards from when they were little, i even put a christmas decoration they made on the tree and the youngest is 18! I have kept a love letter given to my daughter when she was about 8 from a neighbour, bless him its so sweet put his heart and soul into it haha, and a lovely letter from my son aged 6 after i made him try broccoli, says, dear miss pig, don't ever give me that again i hate it, love from Nathan hahaha!! Not loads of stuff just in a couple of boxes in the loft :-)
