I have noticed that my dog (10yrs young) has started smelling around the neck area. We had been feeding him on ox liver and found that his stools were loose, we have since changed to tinned wet food and complete dry food.

His stools are now solid but after being bathed a couple of times the smell is still there.

Can anyone please give us any suggestions on what may be wrong

What does he smell of?
Some dogs can suffer from yeast infections - it might smell like cream cheese. An unusual cross - I had a bull-mastiff/German shepherd cross when I was younger. He was big and solid muscle and a big softy.
Do you leave his collar on all the time? Was he being purely fed on ox liver?
Has he been rolling/nosing in fox-poo? (I jest not!)
Have you checked his teeth?
Check his ears too - he may have an infection
sounds like hes either rolled in something or his collar needs changing. we have changed our labs three times and now use wainwrights and not had a problem.
