I'm growing a green sweet (bell) pepper plant indoors. Should I remove the side shoots as with tomato plants? I'm also growing some tomato plants indoors and I've removed the side shoots as recommended but the plants seem to be getting very tall. I read something about removing certain trusses to help it fruit more and keep the plant from growing so tall. Is that correct? What are the trusses? Is that like the side shoots?

dont remove the side shoots on peppers. Just pinch out the top when they get to about 30cm tall and allow it to bush out.

As for toms indoors, you will need to keep them short. The trusses are where the fruits grow so dont remove them. Just pinch out side shoots up to about 4 or 5 trusses depending on height then pinch out the top.
